Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US performer Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
