Devoted fans of the actress are urging that a man who breached a barrier and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.

A viral video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the cast proceeded down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was set to appear on the next day. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney performance in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Fans Show Disapproval Over the Star's Well-being

Many followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Some fans also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while some demanded digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.
