Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes live text of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard on select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
It's week six in the NFL season , following last week's discussion regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games was the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia did so in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.
But it proved good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome that deficit before lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.
The Broncos have the top defender with CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that battle.
They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing extra defenders but they might plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.
Could Denver be this season's dark horses?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big while recent RB JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
That shows how the Broncos represent a squad that wants to run first, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in positive situations.
It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.
His strengths are his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to deliver precision throws across the middle and past defenders.
For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.
If you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to stay in play for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.
The quarterback has bitten back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like moldable clay. He can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are having offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to help you during difficult moments and build self-belief.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need is to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win any game.
Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
