Approximately twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, generating wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Residents reported giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Response teams were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly one thousand households in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, primarily for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

- Wyndham region - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At one point on Sunday, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both regions.
Safety Concern
Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
