Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new domestically developed defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. The first three manufacturers have started production, with an additional eleven preparing to set up assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials announced this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Combat Conditions

These UAVs utilize a nationally created system called “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in actual battle and demonstrated successful “at night, amid electronic warfare and at low altitudes,” officials stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.

Latest Assault on the Capital Described as Calculated

Volodymyr Zelenskyy described Moscow's most recent assault on Ukraine as “intentional, premeditated and wicked” following six people lost their lives and many others wounded in a series of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Air raid sirens sounded in the capital just after midnight this past Friday, with Shahed drones soon detected overhead and intensive defensive fire from Ukrainian air defences.

Zelenskyy stated the country was hit by hundreds of UAVs and multiple missiles. The deceased were at home in a block of flats on Kyiv’s left bank when it was hit. Dozens of additional structures sustained damage, among them the Azerbaijani embassy.

International Objection After Embassy Destruction

Azerbaijan announced it delivered a formal objection to Moscow's diplomatic representative this past Friday after the embassy damage. Russia intends to manufacture as many as 120,000 glide bombs this year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official disclosed, among them 500 of a new, extended-range model that is capable of targeting additional urban centers. Russian forces were firing 200 to 250 aerial bombs daily, with the previous month's average daily usage being about 170, according to defence ministry data.

Ukrainian Strikes Focus on Moscow's Oil Facilities

Russia’s Black Sea port of the port city temporarily suspended crude shipments this past Friday – equivalent to two percent of worldwide oil production – following a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Military commanders in Kyiv stated its military had fired domestically produced missiles and deployed multiple kinds of strike drones in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of operations to diminish the strategic capabilities of the Russian aggressor.”

Ukrainian forces separately struck a processing plant in the Saratov area and an energy depot in the adjacent Engels region during the night.

Global Restrictions Affect Russian Energy Company

Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with interested parties regarding its international holdings after recent sanctions from the UK and the US and failure of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “Final arrangements will be announced once the final agreements are completed and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” Lukoil commented.

Zelenskyy Plans Diplomatic Trip to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, Madrid, on Tuesday to confer with parliament members following his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. The Ukrainian president will convene with representatives from all houses of the legislature throughout his stay, the Spanish statement said.
